    Thermage®

Thermage® is a safe, non-invasive procedure that helps to smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger looking appearance-without surgery, injections or downtime. We are successully utilizing Thermage® for tightening and countouring the face, eyelids, body and for treating cellulite. Our office uses the Thermage® NxT sysetm-the newest Thermage® platform which allows for an even better treatment experience with faster treatment times. Thermage's® unique capacitive radio frequency technology safely heats the deeper layers of skin, stimulating existing collagen and promoting new collagen growth over time. The body by thermage procedure tightens and renews all three layers of the skin: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous fat. Our cosmetic nurses are trained in the latest techniques approved under the Thermage® consensus Guidelines and have been successfully treating patients since May of 2003.

UltraPulse Encore-Active FX, Deep FX, Max FX, and Pigment FX

The UltraPulse is a fractional CO laser which is used to treat wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, brown spots, scars, and to improve skin texture in a single treatment. With fractional laser treatment, only a fraction of the skin's surface is treated, leaving small "bridges" of untouched skin to allow for more rapid healing. This technique causes immediate skin tightening and stimulates long term collagen remodeling and "plumping" of the skin.

    Hair Removal

    LightSheer Diode

Laser Hair removal provides the only practical, long-term means of removing large amounts of facial, neck, body, bikini, arm and leg hair. LightSheer is the most advanced hair removal system and is suitable for any body area. With a quick laser pulse, the hair follicle is disabled thereby eliminating or significantly impeding the hair's re-growth. LightSheer's small applicator makes this system more suitable for smaller areas of the skin, and the special cooled tip allows more comfortable use in sensitive areas.

    Leg Vein Treatment

    Sclerotherapy

Sclerotheraphy is the artful injection of concentrated saline or chemical agents into veins to cause inflammation (sclerosis) and permanent closure of these vessels. Results are seen within three to four weeks and the discomfort is tolerable.

Indications For Skin Needling: Wrinkle Lines...Improvement of Scars...Restoration of Color!

    • Wrinkles on the face, neck, hands or body
    • Stretch marks
    • Scars from surgeries or injuries
    • Scars from chicken pox or acne
    • Scar tissue that is tight or impairs movement
    • Hypopigmentation (white spots)

Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy, is a unique process stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin. A sterile needle, gently inserted into the epidermis causes a small injury signaling a repair sequence with the deposition of new collagen and elastin at the injury site. A softening with noticeable improvement of lines and scars result. An additional benefit is the stimulation of melanocyte migration into areas of whitening restoring normal skin color. Grouped, multiple needle insertions, give the most benefit. Topical anesthetic cream applied one hour prior to the procedure allows a painless or minimally discomforting procedure.

Scar relaxation is the process of breaking though fibrous bands by multiple needle insertions into the dermal layer. Results range from softening of texture to releasing of contractures with improved range of motion and improvement of appearance. Acne, injury and surgical scars are expected to benefit but individual variations are likely and keloid tendency may prohibit this procedure.

Melanocyte restoration is the process of regenerating pigmentation in areas of hypopigmentation (white spots) by stimulating the migration of melanocytes from the surrounding normal skin into the area of need. The treatment site must be exposed to natural sunlight or UVA tanning daily for 2 days following each procedure, the time depending upon skin type and sun sensitivity. Results vary from pink to brown re- pigmentation depending upon the number of treatments and the anatomic site.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is it painful? The procedures are semi-invasive. A topical anesthetic is applied to the area 1 hour prior to the treatment. Most clients feel very little discomfort, if any at all.

Is skin needling an alternative to collagen fillers? Yes, skin needling is a natural alternative to synthetic collagen fillers. To look your best, we recommend clients to consider having Botox to relax their facial muscles thereby enhancing the skin needling results.

What kind of recovery can I expect from skin needling? The area should not be exposed to the sun, tanning bed, heat, hot water or sauna for 5-7 days, (contrary to melanocyte restoration). It is extremely important to protect your skin with at least SPF 30 at all times. The skin will appear to have red 'cat scratches' for a few days following each session. Mineral makeup can be worn the day after the needling application. The treated areas should be kept moist with A& D or like product 3-7+ days post treatment or until the scabs fall off.

What kind of results can I expect from skin needling? Clients can see results within the first few days of each treatment and continue to see results up to 3 months post treatment. Results can last for years. Individual results vary as each body's regeneration is unique. The daily use of topical products such as; Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamins C & E and Hyaluronic Acid will help boost collagen and regenerate the tissue after each needling session.

Is there a certain type of scar it won't work on? It will not help keloids, dark or red scars. Best results are obtained for scars 6 months or older.

How many sessions are needed for skin needling, scar relaxation and/or melanocyte restoration? The treatment usually requires 3 - 6 sessions in 4-6 week intervals, however, you can see some benefit from only 1 or 2 treatments.

    REASONS FOR CHOOSING PERMANENT MAKEUP

    • Hair loss from alopecia, chemotherapy, accidents, burns, cosmetic surgery or aging.
    • Physically active people who want to look their best throughout activities such as aerobics, running, swimming, boating, and don't want to worry about "sweating off" or reapplying cosmetics.
    • Men who want to enhancement their features naturally and not "made up."
    • Allergies to ordinary makeup, watery eyes, or have sensitive skin.
    • Motor impaired – Arthritis, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke patients, and those with an unsteady hand who cannot apply their own makeup.
    • People who just always want to look their best—mothers and busy professionals who do not have the time for applying makeup each day.

    MICROPIGMENTATION

Micropigmentation, sometimes referred to as "permanent makeup," is a semi-invasive procedure; the skin is penetrated in order for the implantation of pigment to occur.

Permanent Make Up is undetectable makeup that bridges the gap between looking washed out and looking "made-up." Permanent makeup should enhance your natural features, without giving a "made-up" look. Topical makeup trends change from season to season. However, having thick lashes and defined brows and lips will never go out of style. Therefore, permanent makeup is not meant to replace topical makeup. It gives you the advantage of looking natural, only better, even when not wearing conventional makeup.

EYEBROWS - Eyebrows that are too light, sparse, or nonexistent, can be beautifully enhanced and improved with Permanent Make Up. Eyebrows are important because they frame your eyes and give your face expression. When the eyebrows are fuller and extended, you get a more youthful appearance..

EYELINER - Permanent eyeliner is placed in the lash line, which enhances and defines the beauty of the eyes. Debbie's technique is a very natural look and will make lashes appear thicker when not wearing mascara. It opens the eyes and gives great definition.

LIPS - Permanent lip color is perfect for asymmetrical shaped lips, thick lips, thin lips, or lips with uneven vermillion borders or loss of color. It will also eliminate the problem of lipstick "bleeding" into the fine lines around the mouth. It will bring back that youthful glow to your mouth!

Beauty Marks- Beauty marks can be put anywhere on the face except over an existing mole. Play with a makeup pencil to find the exact spot. Like Cindy Crawford or Marilyn Monroe!

Scar Camouflage - When you lose pigment in your skin it appears as white patches. This can result from trauma, burns, vitiligo, or a number of unknown reasons. Fleshed colored pigments can be used to give the appearance of skin tones in these white areas. It is difficult to match the pigment of the skin perfectly, but we can get pretty close to your natural color. Vitiligo clients may have trouble getting good matches on hands. This is an advanced procedure that can take many appointments and not everyone is a good candidate. A thorough consultation must be done with Dr. DeStefano before scar camouflage is attempted.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Will I really look like myself? Permanent makeup is not intended to replace cosmetics completely. Because the color is placed "in" your skin and not "on" your skin, a more natural, softer look results. When you're ready for a special occasion, you can apply as much additional makeup as you wish.

How long will my permanent makeup last? Permanent makeup is long-lasting. However, as you become accustomed to your new makeup, it's not uncommon to want more. You may want to freshen up your new makeup every couple years. The darker the color, such as black, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. More natural, delicate colors are sometimes vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and breakdown by the body. As a general rule, eyeliner, and lip color have the longest longevity, approximately 2 to 7 years, depending upon the color used. Eyebrows may not need a touch up for 1 to 5 years.

How Long Does Each Procedure Take? Approximately 2 to 4 hours. There will be an additional follow up procedure that will take place between 4 to 6 weeks from the day of the initial procedure.

Is Permanent Makeup Painful? Permanent makeup procedures are semi-invasive and there maybe some discomfort. It really does vary on each individual's threshold for pain. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the areas. A dental block is also available for brow, lip and eyeliner application at an added cost.

What is the after care? Each client is unique, but the general guidelines are:
    • Brows – 4 to 5 days, with slight swelling and redness for the first 24 to 36 hours. Do not pick, peel or force exfoliate while they are healing. Do not apply any additional makeup to the area while they are healing. Apply A&D ointment or Vaseline with a Q-tip 3 to 4 times daily to keep area moist. You will experience 30% to 50% fading with the first application.
    • Eyeliner – 5 to 6 days, with slight swelling and redness for the first 24 to 36 hours. Apply a light coat of A&D ointment or Vaseline 2 to 3 times daily with a Q-tip before washing your face in the PM and dab excess off with a damp cloth. Continue this process for 7 days or until scab has fallen off. Please purchase a new tube of mascara in order to alleviate any bacteria contamination. Mascara can start to be worn after the scab falls off. You will experience 30% to 50% fading with the first application.
    • Lips – 7 to 9 days, with swelling and redness for the first 24 to 35 hours.. Apply A&D ointment or Vaseline to lips with a Q-tip 3 to 4 times daily, or when they feel dry. You will experience dryness, similar to chapped lips. Do not force peel lips when they start to peel. You will experience 30% to 50% fading with the first application. If you have a history of cold sores it is mandatory to pre- medicate as advised by your doctor as tattooing lips will bring out cold sores.

Is the Treatment Safe? The equipment used complies with all relevant health and safety requirements. All needles are disposable, sterile and of the highest quality. Sterilization and hygiene is of the utmost importance before, during, and after the treatment. All procedures are performed in a doctor's office with state of the art, equipment and sterilization equipment.
